LuCI works great if Luci-ssl or Luci-openssl is not installed.Once Luci-ssl or Luci-openssl installed with https configuration ,LuCI gets stuck every now and then ,and you`ll have to refresh .When using Firefox ,web crashes and come up with SSL Error: ssl_error_bad_mac_read. Dont know if there is bug in ustream-ssl.

15.11.20171170KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalmt7621: kernel errors - rcu_sched detected stalls on CP...AllUnconfirmed Task Description

After the work done for issue  FS#804 , the rcu_sched error seemed to be gone. However, I am now starting to see it again. Usually, at least for me, the error happens when there is large amounts of traffic and I do something with the network. My most reliable way for reproducing the error is as follows:

- Use iperf to flood a router with small packets. Other ways to stress the CPU also work, I for example triggered the error when I added very aggressive logging to the firewall.
- While the router is being flooded, I restarted networking (I am logged in to the router via UART).
- After a couple of network restarts, the error is trigger and the following is written to syslog at some interval:

[ 2251.870000] INFO: rcu_bh detected stalls on CPUs/tasks:

I am also able to sometimes trigger the issue by simply issuing the reboot-command (while the CPU is stressed). I have not applied any traffic shaping to my interface, and I see the error both with kernel 4.4 and 4.9 (i.e., LEDE 17.01 and master). I don’t quite know how to progress in debugging this.

04.11.20171146Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalConstant wireless disconnects due to excessive missing ...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

D-Link DIR-320 B1, currently with Lede 17.01.4 (basically, default config).
Had no problems in years with 7 of my wireless devices (consoles, phones and tablets) in same room - everything works perfect.

But my new Android 6 tablet (Lenovo Tab 3 8 Plus) keeps losing network.
It can happen randomly - for example, I can notice that every 3 minutes in Google PlayStore, or only couple times per hour (maybe it happens more often, but I’m not checking something online that time).
And it seems, tablet doesn’t even notice that there is no network - signal strenght icon is there (filled icon - “connected”), but data is not transfered (no send/receive arrows).
If there was a download, then it stops and not trying to resume or restore connection.
Or, for example, Google PlayStore doesn’t say “wifi is off” - it just keeps trying to load page (rotating loading symbol).
Some time after it gets his connection back, or it much faster just to turn off/on wireless.

Router system log have this message: “disconnected due to excessive missing ACKs”.
I tried to add “disassoc_low_ack 0” and this error gone from log, but this not solved connection problem.
I tried to use another router DIR-300NRU6 with stock firmware - everything OK, not a single disconnect.

01.11.20171138KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalDeauthenticated Reason: 15=4WAY_HANDSHAKE_TIMEOUT on Wi...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on
TP-Link Archer C7 (AC1750 version 2.0)

- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.
LEDE Reboot 17.01.4 r3560-79f57e422d (newest release)

- Steps to reproduce
1) Set 802.11g radio as AP
2) Set 802.11a© radio as client for EDUROAM network with WPA2-EAP TTLS or PEAP (cipher CCMP) 802.11ac-80Mhz, fix channel (36), transmit power auto and country code DE (Germany)

3.1) Wait for 8:24 hours (or until the Maximum lifetime for PMKSA 70% of 43200 seconds reached and re-authentication is triggered)

   OR

3.2) install wpa-cli, ping to any host to test internet and invoke "reauthenticate" in wpa-cli (in this way, after one or many times "reauthentication" is invoked, the internet will be unusable until "reauthenticate" is invoked again)

Description:
This Problem exist since long time ago either with openwrt or lede on 802.11ac radio. If 8 hours 24 minutes duration of router operation lasted (according to default dot11RSNAConfigPMKLifetime=43200 and dot11RSNAConfigPMKReauthThreshold=70 in wpa_supplicant) and the router try to "refresh" its pmksa by reauthenticate again with radius server, it will be disconnected with reason 15 (four way handshake timeout). For some reasons I need to keep my router always connected without "regular unwillingly" disconnections (except if there are software update in EDUROAM AP side). This is the kernel messages:

Timestamps 25-47 are the initial boot of router and at 30269 the problem occurred. I can test this in quick way by installing wpa-cli and invoke reauthenticate command. The internet will be unusable even if the router still connected to AP. But by testing this way, I don't get "four way handshake timeout report message, except if I let the internet unusable for 15-30 minutes and the router is deauthenticated and reconnection occur automatically.

This are the system logs (the very first and the very last entries are before and after the problem occured):

01.11.20171136KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalHFSC kernel warnings with QoS / SQMlede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

- Device problem occurs on
x86_64 - PC Engines APU2

- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.
LEDE 17.01.4 vanilla source compiled with no additional patches.

- Steps to reproduce
Enable QoS/SQM. Load with traffic hitting the bandwidth limit configured in QOS/SQM configuration.

Warning is shown in kernel and traffic by-passes the limit set in QOS/SQM resulting in a peak and then falls much below the available bandwidth. It again tries to stabilise until next crash. This results in peaks beyond 8Mbps and goes down to 2Mbps after crash when limits configured are @90% of 6Mbps. Users complain of slow Internet access.

21.10.20171094Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalno connection on any ethernet ports (incl internet) on ...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Yesterday I upgraded the Linksys wrt1200ac from openwrt 15.05.1
to lede-17.01.4. The upgrade was done through a luci web
interface.

After reboot the wan connection was gone, as well as all local
ethernet ports. Wifi continued to work fine. The configuration
seems to have survived the upgrade. I couldn’t find anything
wrong with the configuration.

On the Internet port there were no packets coming in. On the
ethernet port 1 there are bootp/dhcp requests coming from the
router.

Not sure if that is relevant, but reverting back to 15.05.1
didn’t work either: the router is currently completely
inaccessible. I don’t have a serial cable, will probably order
one to try to debrick the thing.

19.10.20171085KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalStreaming ieee80211 cmd timeouts followed by crashTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on: Linksys WRT3200ACM
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.: LEDE Reboot SNAPSHOT r5096-a29848c / LuCI Master (git-17.260.43176-678c15c)

Router had been up for less than 24 hours from last crash. Started streaming the following errors in syslog:

19.10.20171083Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalar71xx Kernel 4.9 PPTP Passthrough not workingTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

today i compiled for my TP-Link mr3420 v2 with Kerenl 4.9 by simply changing the KERNEL_PATCHVER:=4.4 to KERNEL_PATCHVER:=4.9 in target/linux/ar71xx/Makefile , everything works good so far except i am not able to connect to the VPN which was working good previously with 4.4 kernel compiled lede a week back.

19.10.20171079KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalWifi 5GHz & Kernel 4.4 vs 4.9 [Netgear R8000/bcm53xx]AllUnconfirmed Task Description

Tested on Netgear R8000/bcm53xx
LEDE Reboot SNAPSHOT r5099-5fff2f4 / LuCI Master (git-17.289.64212-462779c)

Since Kernel 4.9, the Wifi 5GHz (radio 0 and radio 2) does not work: visible, but unable to connect or disconnected after few seconds (unable to receive IP at all).

Today, I tested to compile the build but with the previous kernel 4.4, all Wifi 5GHz work.

The LEDE config (on the device) are strictly identical between both tests.

Attached all files about both build.

24.07.2017927Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalSQUASHFS error: xz decompression failedlede-17.01Assigned Task Description

Ubiquiti AirGateway and Bullet M2
LEDE 17.01.2
Lighttpd
PHP7

Runs very well on boot up. Then after some interval ranging from minutes to days, the following typical error occurs, repeated numerous times with differing blocks:
Mon Jul 24 07:09:39 2017 kern.err kernel: [43650.730023] SQUASHFS error: xz decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Mon Jul 24 07:09:39 2017 kern.err kernel: [43650.735459] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x1e5d9a

Following this the unit becomes unresponsive, very slow or reboots its self.
Tried on two different devices and get the same result.

Images produced with Imagebuilder with ipv6, usb, ppp, luci removed to give space on flash.

The exact same config on OpenWrt CC (but with php5) gives no problems.

27.06.2017872Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalRelease image will brick Archer C7 v1.1 lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

- Device problem occurs on: TP-Link Archer C7 v1.1
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc: https://downloads.lede-project.org/releases/17.01.2/targets/ar71xx/generic/lede-17.01.2-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v1-squashfs-factory.bin - Steps to reproduce: trying to re-flash router with lede-17.01.2-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v1-squashfs-factory.bin image will result in bricked router stuck in reboot loop. I tried flashing from both factory image (from factory firmware) and sysupgrade image (from OpenWRT using both SSH and web interface). Both images result in bricked router.

Unbricking was done by forcing router into failsafe mode, SSH:in into it and uploading/flashing old firmware via NC from a PC.

I suggest pulling this image from a list of supported images for Archer C7 v1.1, until issues have been solved. Otherwise, it might result in bricked equipment.

10.04.2017698Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalNexx WT3020F wifi packet loss problemlede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

I have two this devices. I try to figure out which is the ideal firmware for it so I tested it with a few. I tested it with OpenWRT 15.05.1, LEDE 17.01.0 and Gargoyle 1.9.1/1.9.2. But I found a common issue. The device lose packets via wifi. Tested with several clients/devices. No matter what configuration I use. No problem on LAN but on wifi it lose a bunch of packets. Maybe it’s a driver issue? Would be good to figure out.

I also noticed that the latency is unstable on wifi. I guess it’s also a related with this issue. Should I open another ticket for it?

29.03.2017665Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalLede 17.01.0-r3205-59508e3 on Nucom 5010UN v2 acting as...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on: Nucom 5010UN v2 (brcm63xx)
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.: Just download and install latest Lede build (lede-17.01.0-r3205-59508e3) for Nucom 5010UN v2 from https://downloads.lede-project.org/releases/17.01.0/targets/brcm63xx/generic/lede-17.01.0-r3205-59508e3-brcm63xx-generic-R5010UNv2-squashfs-cfe.bin - Steps to reproduce: Configure Nucom 5010UN v2 as Wireless Routed Client
- Bug: After one hour or two, the Wireless Routed Clients looses connection with the Router it is connected to. It means, connecting by ssh or Luci website on Wireless Routed Client and running “ping 192.168.1.1” where 192.168.1.1 is the router it is connected to returns 100% of packets loss, also, “ping google.com” doesn’t work. But logging into Luci website and navigating to Network → WiFi, in Wireless Overview it shows as the Wireless Client Routed router is connected to the main one but there’s no working connection between them, at least pings are not working on both sides. Restarting the router seems to fix the issue but after one or two hours of uptime, the issue arises again.

Note, the bug was first introduced on OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05 as OpenWrt Barrier Breaker does not suffer from this bug.

The following is as more complete explanation:

Hi,

i’ve just installed latest Lede-Project build, version 17.01.0-r3205-59508e3, on a Nucom 5010UN V2 router and everything seemed to work fine until i noticed that it keeps loosing Internet/network connection. The router is configured as Wireless Routed Client and the firmware was downloaded from https://downloads.lede-project.org/releases/17.01.0/targets/brcm63xx/generic/lede-17.01.0-r3205-59508e3-brcm63xx-generic-R5010UNv2-squashfs-cfe.bin

Also note, i think it’s a common bug inherited from OpenWrt as i suffered the same exact bug on an ADB P.DG A4001N1 router running latest build of OpenWrt, Chaos Calmer 15.05 and also 15.05.1. Also note that after posting on OpenWrt forums more users complained about the same bug.

Also, i want to state that in OpenWrt, the issue can be workarounded by downgrading to Barrier Breaker 14.07 which means the bug was introduced on the next build or next commits.

Anyway, my current setup is on Nucom 5010UN v2 is Wireless Routed Client [https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/clientmode#routed] + Static Route [https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/recipes/routedclient#usingrouting] so clients on Nucom (Client Router) can “see” hosts on ADSL router (acting as AP).

I performed a clean install by resetting my custom configuration and the update went fine, but after reconfiguring the router as Wireless Routed Client it always happens that after being operating as Wifi Routed Client for about 2 hours suddenly it loses Internet connection/connection to AP. I say Internet connection because running a ping to google.com from ssh within inside the router doesn’t work but if i check through LUCI Network→Wifi it shows the router Wifi is still connected to the main ADSL router.

Here’s [https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=355180#p355180] a post on OpwnWrt site where i exposed the same issue for an ADB P.DG A4001N1 router and some other users replied complaining about the same issue.

These are the files modified by me through LUCI when configuring the routed as Wireless Routed Client, as i’ve been entirely configuring the router through LUCI except for the Static Route [https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/recipes/routedclient#usingrouting] where i followed the indications on the link:

10.02.2017494Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalNETDEV WATCHDOG: ptm0 (): transmit queue 0 timed outAllNew Task Description

I have a VDSL line with Plusnet (UK) - the connection is pppoe - ptm0.101. With the supplied modem/router the line and connection is stable with no disconnects. With LEDE the connection is established and works well until it disconnects (sometimes as early as few minutes other times it stays connected up to an hour). After the disconnect there is no reconnection until a reboot. Restarting wan interface (ifdown wan/ifup wan) or dsl connection (/etc/init.d/dslcontrol stop/start) does not help.

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on TP-w8970 and BTHomehub 5A (same crash on both lantiq based devices)
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc. Tested on LEDE RC2, earlier LEDE snapshot from October 2016, Openwrt CC - same symptoms
- Steps to reproduce - VDSL connection on ptm0.101 via pppoe

Here is a trace of the crash (dmesg):

Running LEDE 17.01.4

I’m not sure how do I reproduce this problem, it just happen randomly at random time.

This never happened back when I used OpenWRT, were there some regression somewhere?

So with LEDE, my router’s wifi randomly disconnect and disable itself. I have read the logs (provided below) yet I can’t see anything suspicious. I only see these:

Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio0' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio1' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio0' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio1' is disabled

This was around the time people in my home messaged me that they cannot find the access point from their devices

It bugs me because I usually go to the office in the afternoon and people in my house complains to me that Wifi stops working without anything being done to the router, I have not set up VPN access to my home network so I cannot do anything until I go home in the evening.

05.11.20171148Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighAR7 images for Fritz!Box 7170 build but do not bootTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Hi there,
I’m trying to get the latest LEDE with Kernel 4.9 up and running with an old Fritz!Box 7170 (ar7/EVA).
The images build fine but they are not booting at all.

Is someone able to help? I have tried to collect the “internet knowledge” about this device in this github.
I also found some very old OpenWRT patches (1)(2) for whom I don’t know if they were ever integrated in master.
I’m not a developer myself, so I don’t even know how to integrate patches to try them out.

I also created a forum thread if anyone has some more tips or ideas.

20.10.20171087KernelBug ReportVery LowHighLEDE snaphost: sunxi cortex-a7, BanaPi target: USB not ...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Hi all
With snapshot r5117-fbde9ac, at least on a bananapi (cortex-a7) the USB ports are down, apparently there is some problem with VBUS (maybe DT problem?)
Here the dmesg after boot

19.10.20171084Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighAll ethernet ports assigned to WAN on EnGenius ENS202EX...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

On the EnGenius ENS202EXT after flashing the image to install LEDE I had all ethernet ports by default assigned to WAN, making me unable to connect to the router, I had to go in through serial and enable WiFi/move ports over to the LAN bridge. Using Snapshot r5108-48dcd26.

19.10.20171076PackagesBug ReportVery LowHighBugs about QCA9886AllUnconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on archer-c58-v1
- Software versions of LEDE release is the latest master version, and other versions have same bug.

I noticed the memory is leaking after connected serveral devices with QCA9886,

that will cause system crash in the end. Before leaking, WIFI can work fine, but when memory is leaking, WIFI can not work anymore.

My OS is latest lede(mac80211 version is backports-2017-10-06),

and the board can work with QSDK.

If you need more detail information, please let me know.

Running LEDE Reboot 17.01.2, r3435-65eec8bd5f on TP Link WDR4300. I have 2 routers, one as internet gateway and one as AP/repeater. My primary device connected to cable model will sporadically reboot at some times and loss of internet connectivity while server reboots. I”m not able to reproduce at this point. I’ve noticed this a number of times with a number of reboots compared to my 2nd box.

lantiq w8970
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.
17.01 branch
- Steps to reproduce
1) try to build image
2) fails to build e2fsprogs and more.

I have this problem on other packages that require this include <sys/sysmacros.h>. package builds if I manually add the include.

I’m using musl, the source should include sysmacros.h : https://github.com/davidlazar/musl/blob/master/include/sys/types.h macro _GNU_SOURCE is not defined an so sys/sysmacros.h is not included and packages don’t build. should it be?

look at the log for build errors.

03.08.2017948PackagesBug ReportVery LowHighlua: on 64bit targets integer number truncation may occ...AllUnconfirmed Task Description

On 64bit target implementations (eg x86_64) and with LNUM on int32
mode (default), assignation of an integer number greater than
UINT_MAX (ie 4294967295), but lesser or equal than UINT_MAX +
0x7FFFFFFF + 1 (ie 6442450943) to a variable does result in
truncation of the final value stored in memory.

E.g.:

   > n=4294967296; print(n)
   0
   > n=6442450943; print(n)
   2147483647

Cause:
LNUM does perform a C-Style cast in the intermediate function wrapper
used to check for the fitness of numbers. This cast is not only unnecessary
but also brings on undefined behaviour on 64bit target implementations
where INT’s and LONG’s are of size 32 and 64bit respectively.

Fix:
Removal of the unnecessary cast in wrapper does bring back the ‘overflow detection’.

Regards, Víctor Calvís.

25.07.2017931Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighOnboard Bluetooth not working on Raspberry Pi 3 BAllUnconfirmed Task Description

I have tried LEDE 17.01.1 and 17.01.2 and i can’t get bluetooth running on raspberry pi 3.

It will not flash the firmware for the bluetooth controller on rpi3, when device is brought up:

root@LEDE:~# /usr/bin/hciattach /dev/ttyAMA0 bcm43xx 921600 noflow -
bcm43xx_init
Patch not found for BCM43430A1, continue anyway
Set Controller UART speed to 921600 bit/s
Device setup complete

Instead of patch not found it should produce:
Flash firmware /lib/firmware/brcm/BCM43430A1.hcd

I could not find this firmware via opkg, so i used a file from OpenELEC at
https://github.com/OpenELEC/misc-firmware/tree/master/firmware/brcm

This however won’t load and bluetooth is not initialized correctly and unusable:

root@LEDE:~# /usr/bin/hciattach /dev/ttyAMA0 bcm43xx 921600 noflow -
bcm43xx_init
Flash firmware /lib/firmware/brcm/BCM43430A1.hcd

12.07.2017902Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighUnable to restore stock ROM in TP-Link CPE210 HW 1.1 af...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Hello

Has anybody tried to restore stock ROM in CPE210 hardware version 1.1. after flashing LEDE? I have reviewed TP-Link´s forum and it seems it is not possible. People has tried the Pharos OS TFTP recovery (http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?81684-How-to-use-firmware-recovery-function-of-Pharos-CPE1) as well as from the OpenWRT/LEDE web GUI, and both fail.

Everybody labels flashing to OpenWRT or LEDE as “one-way” action because they suspect that OpenWRT/LEDE “changes something” in the flash, so it breaks a restore to stock ROM . Bellow I list them:

1) OpenWRT/LEDE misses partitions of the stockROM partitions. Bellow is the partition table with stock ROM:

U-Boot partition
partition fs-uboot base 0×00000 size 0×20000 partition partition-table base 0×20000 size 0×02000

Firmware partitions
fwup-ptn partition-table base 0×00800 size 0×00800 fwup-ptn os-image base 0×01000 size 0xcbf29
fwup-ptn soft-version base 0xccf29 size 0×00015 fwup-ptn support-list base 0xccf3e size 0x0063c
fwup-ptn file-system base 0xcd57a size 0x3e4001

2) OpenWRT/LEDE changes something in the environment of the SafeLoader, which breaks the standard recovery mode.

3) Log from an attempt to transfer recovery.bin (the recovery.bin file is firmware pharos-up-ver1-3-3-P9[20160705-rel52453].bin). Safeloader request a “vmlinuz” file from the TFTP ad, of course, it does not exists.

I think it is important to check and solve it, because this behavior avoids warranty.

05.07.2017886Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighNewifi D1 ethernat ports freeze after boot with cable p...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Newifi D1 is a router device with MT7621 inside, more detailed information can be found at WikiDevi.

I have LEDE 17.01.2 running on the device, but experienced a bug with ethernat port. The bug is easy to reproduce: just powner on or reboot the device with RJ45 cable plugin. You will find that the LED blinks when booting, but freezes after boot. The frozen status of LED is on(wan port), off(lan port), on(lan port) in my situation which have both 3 ports connected.

But every thing works fine if I power on/reboot the device first, then plugin the RJ45 cable.

I could not connect to the device via the ethernat when it is frozen, but can login via wireless network provided by the device. I have checked the network status with ifconfig, the RX counter of eth0, eth0.1 and eth0.2 shows 0 when TX counter seems OK if I ping someone. I checked the switch as well by command: swconfig dev mt7530 show , every thing shows 0 on each port, excepted for port 6. No error message on dmesg.

Some one mentioned it is switch chip driver bug: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/20890?cversion=0&cnum_hist=1 . But no further information can be find by google any more.
